Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 12, 2026

Daily Metta is built on a simple principle: your practice is yours. This policy explains how the app handles your data — and, more importantly, how it doesn't.

What Daily Metta stores

Daily Metta stores your journal entries, meditation sessions, and app preferences. All of this data is stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework.

iCloud sync

If iCloud is turned on for Daily Metta on your device, your data also syncs across your Apple devices through your private iCloud account, using Apple's CloudKit. This sync is managed entirely by Apple and is protected by your Apple Account. Daily Metta does not operate any servers, and the developer has no access to your iCloud data.

No account required

Daily Metta does not require you to create an account, provide an email address, or sign in. There is no user registration of any kind.

No data collection

Daily Metta does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data. It contains no analytics, tracking, telemetry, or crash-reporting tools. The app makes no network requests of its own — the only network activity is Apple's: iCloud sync, which is controlled by your device settings, and the App Store's purchase system, which handles optional contributions.

If you have chosen to share analytics with app developers in your iPhone's settings, Apple may provide anonymized crash and usage statistics. Daily Metta adds nothing to them.

No advertising

Daily Metta contains no advertisements and does not use any advertising frameworks or identifiers.

Apple Health

If you turn on Apple Health, Daily Metta saves each meditation session to Apple Health as Mindful Minutes. Daily Metta never asks to read your Health data; the only thing it looks up is the sessions it saved itself, so it never records one twice. You can turn this off at any time, in Daily Metta's Settings or in the Health app.

Notifications

If you enable Daily Revisit or Practice Reminder notifications, the notification content (which may include text from your journal entries) is handled by Apple's notification system on your device. Notification content is not sent to any external service.

In-app purchases

Daily Metta offers optional support tiers (tips) through Apple's StoreKit. These transactions are processed entirely by Apple. Daily Metta does not receive or store any payment information.

Data export

You can export your journal entries as a CSV or JSON file at any time from Settings. The exported file is shared using your device's standard share sheet — Daily Metta does not upload or transmit the file.

Data deletion

You can delete individual entries from the app at any time. To remove all data, delete the app from your device. If iCloud sync is enabled, you may also need to remove Daily Metta data from your iCloud storage through your device settings.

Children's privacy

Daily Metta does not knowingly collect any information from children under 13. The app does not require any personal information to use.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new date. Since Daily Metta does not collect email addresses, we cannot notify you directly — please check this page periodically.
