You nurture
what you notice.

Every algorithm, every notification, every endless scroll is competing for the minutes that make up your life. Daily Metta is a meditation and reflection app that helps you realign your attention and focus on the good that's all around you.

Begin your practice.

The practice is the app.

A practice is something you do regularly and intentionally — not to be perfect at it, but to show up for it. A few minutes to pause, breathe, and reflect. The more attention you give the positive moments, the more of them you find.

Arrive
The app opens with stillness. A simple phrase. Stay as long as you need, then move when you're ready.
Meditate
Sit quietly with whatever is on your mind. Set a timer or leave it open — even a minute is enough.
Reflect
Write down whatever comes to you. A sentence, a feeling, a few words. Just an open space for what comes to mind.
Revisit
The first three steps are seeds you plant each day. Revisit is where they grow. After ten reflections, your words start coming back to you — coming back when you need them.
The longer you practice, the richer it becomes.
Daily
A past entry finds you during the day, either scheduled or at random.
Monthly
All the moments you collected that month, woven into a story.
Yearly
At the end of each year, your practice tells its story.

The name comes from mettā, a Pali word meaning loving-kindness — the practice of cultivating goodwill, starting with yourself and gently extending it outward to the people around you.

What surfaces

Moments become stories.

Each entry is a quick thought. A quiet thank-you. But little moments add up. Patterns appear. People show up again and again. Over time, your own words return with new meaning.

The morning light coming through the kitchen window.
My daughter laughing so hard at dinner she couldn't finish her sentence.
We can still surprise each other after all these years.

October 2025 · 31 entries
A Month of Quiet Noticing
October was a month spent paying attention to the small things — the way light moved through your home, the sound of weather, the ease of old friendships. Your daughter showed up in several entries, always in moments of unguarded joy. What stands out most is how often you found beauty in things that were already there, waiting to be noticed.

I'm grateful for Ellie in my life. She's smart, resilient, and kind, and I wouldn't trade her friendship for anything.
